Made from nearly sheer Japanese fabric, the dainty polka dots double as a pattern up-close and then disappear into a standard solid from a distance. While this piece is elegant and sophisticated, it has a flirtatious side that is sure to make you feel like a real pretty woman.

Many people make a mark on our lives. One in particular is a girl named Louise. She marched into the shop a couple of weeks before we opened in 2009. She introduced herself, gave us a shop-warming gift and demanded that we put her to work, even if it was cleaning the bathroom. She is solely responsible for the creation of our monthly backyard music event, supper + song. She dreamt it and she named it. So now we name this billowing, lady-like blouse in honor of sweet Louise.

Louise was envisioned to be tucked in and bloused out. One option we love is to pair her with Elizabeth, our high-waisted jean. The silhouette is generous in the body and in the sleeve. With a clean, hidden button closure, Louise looks great buttoned up completely or unbuttoned way down low. The shoulder yoke seam curves around the top of the arm to give a soft edged structure. To compliment the shoulder detail, the collar is small and subtle and rounded like Peter Pan’s. The cuff fits snug, encouraging the sleeve to blouse over the wrist, emphasizing the billowy shape which was inspired by tops from the 1920s.
