This week’s 1/1 is a beautiful rugged, expertly worn tan leather bag picked up on one of Matt and Carrie’s travels. We estimate that it dates back to the late '60s or early '70s. It has four large, deep pockets - two in the front and two on the sides, with leather strap belt closures on the front of each. Three additional belts provide the top closure. This well-loved bag is in great condition; small flaws and imperfections only add to its character. It has no tag, but on the inside of one of the top flaps there is a faint, worn marking; we can only make out these few words: “Leather Made In ...” White contrast stitching reinforces all seams and the underside of two sturdy handle straps. Overall condition is good for a bag of this age and level of use, but it is worth noting that one of the front pocket straps is cut shorter than the other, however it hooks together just fine. This is a fine piece for anyone who loves the rich look of an old bag instead of the crisp look of a new one.
